I was settling into my new home in Pershore Worcestershire.  I had purchased the AA’s 50 walks in Worcestershire guide to get my bearings in the county.  Not far from my base in Pershore was the Bredon Hill, it was a long walk in the cold of early December of 10 miles.

Around Bredon Hill

A long walk but a short drive, I drove through Pershore town that Sunday morning just after sunrise and the sky was red, was tempted to just stop and take some photos there and then, but not practical.   Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning.  As I ascended Bredon hill the weather was good, looking west there was good view of the Malvern Hills to the west.

Clouds were moving in though as the day and walk progressed and towards the end of the day it was grey and drizzly.  The above two landscape photos taken from Bredon Hill looking west to the Malverns have done pretty well on the stock photography website Shutterstock where I try to sell some of my photos for those interested.

By the time I had reached the top of Bredon hill and Parsons Folly and the remains of an old fort the wind had picked up and the clouds were moving in.  Still managed some landscape photos looking north over the Eversham vale and Wychavon

Even in the the light of day and on a correct exposure a tripod was necessary with a shutter speed 1/20 sec, too slow to to handhold.  Following the walk from the top of Bredon hill there was not much more to photograph.  A good walk though of over 10 miles and I got some keepers.  I would enjoy my roast dinner all the more because of it.
