My last full day in north Devon and the weather was mostly wet windy and stormy again. Undeterred and getting use to it I decided to hike from Mortehoe along the south-west coastal path to Lee Bay and back.

Saunton Sands North Devon
It was a very wet miserable day, the worst yet since starting my road trip and being in North Devon. I not want to stay stuck in my little cottage all day so headed out with just my compact camera, waterproof jacket to nearby Saunton Sands.

Heddon Valley Exmoor Devon
An excellent source of places to visit when your are in an unfamiliar country like Devon is the National trust days out guide. The weather was improving and today I decided to visit the Heddon Valley within the Exmoor national park.

Folkestone North Downs Way
When in Folkestone, you can’t help notice the surrounding backdrop of the North downs hills. There was a break in the gloomy winter weather, it was going to be a sunny day, blues skies and a gentle breeze. I was heading up those hills of the North Downs Way.

The Warren Folkestone Kent
I began my roadtrip in the south east of the UK at Folkestone in Kent. I have friends living there I could visit and the hotels were cheap. Folkestone is also good for walks and landscape photography with some dramatic coastline heading to the Warren and the Kent and North downs as a great backdrop.

A winter walk through Worth Forest
Before starting my road trip proper, I needed to return to my home town of Crawley in West Sussex from Hastings. I would be in the area for a few days and intended to do some walks while there with Worth Forest looking like a good location due to the cloudy overcast and stormy weather.

I returned to Hastings end of November and was looking forward to getting back into some landscape photography around the UK through the winter months.
