River Severn Walk Deerhurst Gloucestershire

It was another lovely sunny March spring day.  Its rare we get a weekend mid March where its glorious sunshine both Saturday and Sunday.  I had already been out the day before with a trip to Black Hill in Herefordshire.  My legs were aching even still feel guilty staying indoors on a sunny day.  I selected a short walk nearby of around 3 to 4 miles just outside Tewkesbury along the river Severn near Deerhurst in Gloucestershire.

Black Hill Walk Herefordshire

A beautiful spring weekend was forecast and the decision was where to go for a photo walk.  At quite some distance from my base in Pershore I really wanted to visit the Black Hill in Herefordshire and wanted good weather for this challenging walk.

Around Oxenton Hill From Teddington

While contracting in Tewkesbury come lunchtimes I usually go  for a 2.5 km walk around the industrial estate, just to get some exercise, fresh air and natural light weather permitting.  Nothing to take nice photos of there though.

Due to the weather was not that enthusiastic for getting out walking and taking photos this weekend.  Was windy, cloudy with threats of showers, not good for photography.  Healthwise though needed the walks and was eager to take some photos.  I decided to go out scouting in my car.

Pershore Walk River Avon Worcestershire

Pershore in Worcestershire is only 10 miles from Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire where I am currently contracting.  I found a nice studio to rent for 6 months in Pershore so Pershore was where I was based in a quiet cul de sac.

Tewkesbury Battle Walk Circuit

I was working in Tewkesbury Gloucestershire while living 10 miles away in Pershore Worcestershire.  On the weekends especially if it was cloudy and overcast I liked to visit the towns and cities of the west midlands and this week I chose to do the Battle walk through Tewkesbury starting at the Abbey.

Forest of Dean Gloucestershire

Another cloudy weekend beckoned, with the sunlight diffused by clouds, forests and woodland can make good subject matter to photograph. Without diffused light there is too much contrast with the bright and dark areas. So this weekend decided to take my first trip to the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.

Painswick Cotswold Gloucestershire

This weekend decided to visit Painswick in Gloucestershire known as the queen of the Cotswolds.  I was using the AA’s 50 walks around Gloucestershire as my guide.  The AA guide described the area around Painswick including the Washpool Valley as having extensive views and a difficult walk due to the hills so good for exercise and photography hopefully.
