High Weald Beckley Woods East Sussex

Researching new locations to walk and take landscape photographs of in and around east Sussex, Beckley wood on the high weald not far from Brede looked like a good candidate for this weekend.

River Brede Winchelsea Cock Marling

Sunday I knew I wanted to go for a walk and practice some more landscape photography, but where?  I like to scout new places but I had picked all the low hanging fruit.  Online I found east Sussex county councils circular walks and liked the look of Winchelsea to Cock Marling along the river Brede.

Castle Hill South Downs Hyperfocal

Living and working in east Sussex I have now covered most of the south downs between Eastbourne and Brighton.  I had one area left to scout the far side of the Castle Hill nature reserve near Woodingdean.

Scouting South Downs Kingston near Lewes

Another hot weekend here in east Sussex, too hot to be out in the midday sun.  The plan was to do an evening walk along a part of the South Downs I have not been yet.  Another escarpment the other side of the river Ouse that continues to Brighton.  Due to football I not make the evening walk so Sunday morning I went on a scouting trip along the South Downs starting off in Kingston near Lewes.

South Downs Sunset East Sussex

I was keen to get more experience with my new DLSR, we were having a very hot weekend in May here in east Sussex.  The hottest day on records and the daytime was too hot and bright for a hike.  So I decided to head to the Firle on the south downs late afternoon to practice some landscape photography and try and get a sunset over the South downs. Great Dixter to Bodiam Castle East Sussex

Another warm sunny April morning and I decided on a walk from Great Dixter to Bodiam Castle in East Sussex to practice some more with my new Canon Compact while I waited for my DLSR to be repaired due to sensor dust.

Johns Cross East Sussex

Driving along the A21 to and from Hastings I could not help noticing the views and landscape around a small place called Johns Cross.  So it was towards the end of April on a beautiful sunny weekend I decided to take a walk around the countryside of Johns Cross in East Sussex.
