Soon I would be leaving Dorset to begin work in East Sussex. I was enjoying a long August bank holiday weekend walking and landscape photography in West Dorset as well as drinking some local beers. From Lyme Regis I was now going to Weymouth but first with a detour to Seaton in east Devon.
Seaton Devon
While staying in my hotel near Lyme Regis I had noticed the nearby coastal town of Seaton in east Devon and was curious to give it a visit. Its easy to discover nearby places and explore them with Ordnance survey maps online in combination with google maps and GPS on your mobile device.
I love to be by the seaside and visit these coastal towns and enjoy a walk along the promenade. Seaton in Devon was no different as seaside towns go, a little off the beaten track as far as sunbathers and beach goers go.
I enjoyed my visit to Seaton and my walk along the Esplanade and a beer. It is a pleasant and peaceful place popular with the aged and retired, just like me.
Weymouth Dorset
After Seaton I made my way to my final destination of this little road trip to Weymouth in Dorset. I came close to Weymouth when I visited Portland Bill and Osmington but never been proper and it was another seaside town on the south coast of England I wanted to visit.
I checked into my guest house for the night in Weymouth right in the heart of the seaside town and then made my way along the Esplanade just with my compact camera. A lot of holidaymakers around but nothing I was told to the day before when I was at the much quieter and peaceful Seatown. I was told you could not move on Weymouth beach. How do people enjoy that?
As often is the case when I visit seaside towns I more enjoy eating and drinking than walking and photography, but its always handy to carry a quality compact camera like the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II Digital Camera which are good in low light conditions.
A nice afternoon and evening spent in Weymouth Dorset but not really manage any exceptional photography or walking. On the way back to Bournemouth in the morning weather permitting I would do a walk around Abbotsbury.
