An excellent source of places to visit when your are in an unfamiliar country like Devon is the National trust days out guide. The weather was improving and today I decided to visit the Heddon Valley within the Exmoor national park.

The Warren Folkestone Kent
I began my roadtrip in the south east of the UK at Folkestone in Kent. I have friends living there I could visit and the hotels were cheap. Folkestone is also good for walks and landscape photography with some dramatic coastline heading to the Warren and the Kent and North downs as a great backdrop.

Worth Matravers Dorset
I got the bearings for this walk from Worth Matravers from the AA’s 50 walks in Dorset. But that was a 10 miler taking in the photogenic Corfe Castle. It was the second part of this walk I was interested in walking along the coast and around St Aldhelms.

It was a beautiful day in early July. The great thing with not working you dont have to miss these beautiful days being confined to a stuffy office. I had a preference for walks along the coast in Dorset. The next nearest walk from my base in Bournemouth was the coastal walk around Kimmeridge.
