Into the month of March and the country is still in lockdown. Still managed to get outdoors and capture some cool landscape and seascape photography mostly around East Sussex but with a venture across the border into Kent. March is a transitional month, things begin to change as winter turns into spring. What follows is a compilation of the best locations visited and photographs taken during March 2021.
Due to lockdown and the ongoing Covid pandemic January 2021 has been a tough month for landscape photography and getting outside. Still managed a few local trips and scouts around East Sussex. What follows is a compilation of the best landscape photography during January 2021 around East Sussex.
Happy new year! What a year 2020 was! It began with me spending most of January and February hiking in the mountains of Tenerife. Then the Covid pandemic and lockdown followed by not being able to return to work. What follows is a compilation of some of the best landscape photos taken during 2020.
Was planning travelling further afield, but with Hastings having been thrown into tier 4 lockdown due to Covid, was restricted to the local area. Decided on a return to Fairlight Glen for a dawn shoot.
After discovering Hope Gap the week before at high tide walking east from Seaford Head, I was keen to return during sunrise and low tide for the first December seascape photography shoot.
Landscape Photography during the month of November mostly consisted of Seascapes along the East Sussex coast and some walks inland over the High Weald to try and capture the last of the Autumn colours. What follows is a compilation of the best landscape photography during November.
The weather forecast was fog and thick cloud but decided to drag myself out of bed to get outside anyway. The plan was to start at Seaford Head in east Sussex then walk over the cliffs down to Cuckmere Haven and capture some seascapes.
An early morning rise to visit the Peacehaven Cliffs in East Sussex. The weather forecast was overcast, windy, rain but with some occasional breaks of sunlight. This can make for some dramatic seascape photography.
As part of my series of returning to iconic landscape and seascape locations and capturing better and more dramatic compositions, a return visit to Rye on the east Sussex coast was next. The plan was for the Mary Stanford lighthouse to be the main focal point during a sunrise.
Was planning a dawn seascape photography shoot at Rye, but too pushed for time. With fog forecast thought would take an early morning walk around Alexandra Park in Hastings. On the drive there, the sky was amazing! A red dawn, change of plan, had to head to the beach along Hastings seafront and attempt to capture those brilliant vibrant colours.
It was going to be a nice October evening as far as the weather was concerned. Was heading to Eastbourne on business and threw the camera gear in the back of the car. That evening headed down to the coast at Birling gap for a low tide sunset.
