During September I had been busy settling into my new job and my new home in Bexhill east Sussex. It was only in October I started to explore this new part of south east England I found myself in. What follows is a compilation of some of my favourite landscape photographs and walks during October.

Sunrise Hastings Country Park
I was settling into my new home along the south east coast of Bexhill in east Sussex not far from Hastings. Hastings is a very photogenic town with many contrasts. Next to the town is the country park and early one Sunday morning it was my next destination for a good walk and some landscape photography.

During my 3 month summer break in Bournemouth I was on the lookout for a new contract hopefully in the Dorset area. One came up in Hastings for which I had an interview and later secured the job. So come early September I was moving to east Sussex and initially staying temporarily in the Bexhill area.

Soon I would be leaving Dorset to begin work in East Sussex. I was enjoying a long August bank holiday weekend walking and landscape photography in West Dorset as well as drinking some local beers. From Lyme Regis I was now going to Weymouth but first with a detour to Seaton in east Devon.

From my base in Bournemouth east Dorset there were some places in west Dorset I wanted to visit like Lyme Regis on the border with Devon. It was a long way to drive for just a day trip so I went on a road trip first stopping off at Seatown and a walk up over Golden Cap.

Looking like a mostly cloudy day moving into the last third of August 2017. With clouds acting as a giant diffusor of the sun its the ideal opportunity to do some landscape photography in woodland. With my base in Bournemouth its only just inside the border of East Dorset. East of east is the county of Hampshire so not too far away. I was running out of coastal walks to do during my stay in Dorset, at least those relatively nearby. Time to head inland, north. My first choice was a place renowned to have stunning views a place called Hambledon Hill.
