Nottingham Hill Cotswold Escarpment

I first set eyes upon Nottingham hill along the Cotswold Escarpment in Gloucestershire from a photo walk atop Oxenton Hill a few months prior.  It was the great views from the beer garden of the Mount Inn in Stanton just a few weeks ago that rekindled my interest in Nottingham Hill.

Stanton Cotswold Village Walk

Sunday and I was aching from my long photo walk around Great Witley in Worcestershire the day before.  Outside the sun was shining again and decided I would do a small late morning early afternoon photo walk around some Cotswold villages in Gloucestershire not far away starting in Stanton.

Painswick Cotswold Gloucestershire

This weekend decided to visit Painswick in Gloucestershire known as the queen of the Cotswolds.  I was using the AA’s 50 walks around Gloucestershire as my guide.  The AA guide described the area around Painswick including the Washpool Valley as having extensive views and a difficult walk due to the hills so good for exercise and photography hopefully.

Cleeve Hill Cheltenham Gloucestershire

Ideally at the weekend when I am working in a new location on the Saturday like to explore a new town or city and the Sunday do a long walk in the countryside somewhere.  This Saturday I wanted to explore Cheltenham town and then take a detour and do a recon on top of the nearby Cleeve Hill.

Dovers Hill Photo Walk Gloucestershire

This walk starts in the village of Chipping Campden supposed to be one of the most beautiful in the Cotswold.  What attracted me to do this photo walk was the reported spectacular views westward atop of Dovers Hill over the vale of Eversham on the Cotswold escarpment.
