Forest of Dean Gloucestershire

Another cloudy weekend beckoned, with the sunlight diffused by clouds, forests and woodland can make good subject matter to photograph. Without diffused light there is too much contrast with the bright and dark areas. So this weekend decided to take my first trip to the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.

Painswick Cotswold Gloucestershire

This weekend decided to visit Painswick in Gloucestershire known as the queen of the Cotswolds.  I was using the AA’s 50 walks around Gloucestershire as my guide.  The AA guide described the area around Painswick including the Washpool Valley as having extensive views and a difficult walk due to the hills so good for exercise and photography hopefully.

I was settling into my new home in Pershore Worcestershire.  I had purchased the AA’s 50 walks in Worcestershire guide to get my bearings in the county.  Not far from my base in Pershore was the Bredon Hill, it was a long walk in the cold of early December of 10 miles.
